Arrive at Itami or Kansai by own arrangement with transfers provided into Tokyo.
In the morning, you can experience an introduction to Kyoto guided by Riki in his home town. We will stop by the Ryoan-ji zen garden, the Golden Pavilion as well as some other special places of interest. In the afternoon you will have time to explore some places of interest in Kyoto before our welcome dinner of traditional Kyoto cuisine.
We will visit a sake brewery today where you can learn about the sake production process and also taste a variety of sake. For dinner, we will enjoy local sake and dinner together at an Izakaya style restaurant.
Today, we will visit the nearby town of Uji, which is famous for producing high quality green tea. You will have the chance to visit some tea shops as well and taking part in a traditional tea ceremony. There will be time later in the afternoon to relax or enjoy some points of interest in Kyoto.
Kyoto to Hamanako BD
After breakfast, we will travel to Hamamatsu by Shinaksen, where we can visit the flower park to hunt for early blossoms of sakura as well as tulips. Then we will proceed to Kai Enshu Onsen Ryokan for a tea lesson with views over Hamanako lake. Relax in the onsen, then at night enjoy a beautiful kaiseki dinner with sake.
Hamanako to Tokyo B
Relax in the morning at the onsen ryokan, then we will visit a local sake brewery before heading into Tokyo on the Shinkansen.
In the morning, join Riki to hunt down the sakura in Tokyo. We will also visit Sensoji Temple in the old downtown area. In the afternoon, you will be free to explore, then you may want to enjoy people watching or shopping in Ameyoko street market in Ueno.
Enjoy your last day in Japan at leisure in Tokyo. For garden lovers, we suggest you head over the Shinjuku Gyoen and also visit the Meiji Shrine in Yoyogi Koen (Park). We will gather together at night for our farewell dinner.
