Travel to Tokyo Sunday 30th March 2025
Arrive at Narita or Haneda by own arrangement with directions provided to your Tokyo hotel. Tokyo B We suggest you visit Sensoji Temple to wish a safe journey, then follow the Sumida River, where rows of cherry blossoms can be seen. Ueno Park is also an excellent place to enjoy hanami. Tokyo (or optional day-tour) B Explore Tokyo at leisure. You may want to scale Tokyo Skytree? Or join an optional tour of Nikko to see the World Heritage listed shrines, Hakone for Mt Fuji, or Kamakura. Tokyo to Kyoto B Take a Shinkansen west to Kyoto. On the way, if clear weather prevails, you can enjoy fantastic views of Mt Fuji enroute. Kyoto B During your stay in Kyoto, we strongly recommend that you visit the Golden Pavilion and also Ryoanji (Japan's best rock garden). Nearby, is also a place where you can experience tea ceremony. Please enquire for details. Also in the vicinity, is the Philosopher’s Path; a lovely walk to enjoy, passing by the Silver Pavilion & Nanzenji. Kyoto B Today, you could visit the Bamboo Forest in Arashiyama, or perhaps just relax under the cherry blossoms by the Kamo River? |
Kyoto to Hiroshima B
Head further west by Shinkansen to Hiroshima, where you can take in the Peace Park & Museum. Hiroshima is also a good place to try Okonomiyaki. Hiroshima (Miyajima side trip) B Make a short trip to Miyajima to view the floating red O-Torii, and see great views of the inland sea from Mt Misen. Hiroshima to Himeji B Today, you will head back east on the Shinkansen to Himeji, where you can tour Japan's very best castle. Himeji to Izunokuni BD The Izu Peninsula will be your last stop before Tokyo. Here, you will experience a very special onsen ryokan, where you can take a hot spring bath, enjoy kaiseki meals and sleep on tatami mats with comfy futons. Izunokuni to Tokyo B Relax for the morning at your onsen ryokan before making your way to Mishima, where you will join the Shinkansen into Tokyo. This will be your last chance enjoy any part of Tokyo that you missed at the start of your journey. Tokyo, then travel home on Thursday 10th April 2025 B Depending on your schedule, enjoy the last of Tokyo before transferring to Haneda or Narita for your flight home. |
